Family Involvement

We recognize that family plays an integral role in teens mental health treatment, which is why guardian participation is a requirement in every Nexus Teen Academy treatment plan. We offer a weekly Family Empowerment Group for parents to develop new social/emotional skills alongside weekly visitation. We also provide family therapy sessions, led by licensed therapists, which creates a safe space for guardians and their teens to address child/parent relational issues. We tailor each session to meet your family’s unique situation. In order for one person in the family system to heal, the whole family gets to reexamine what is working and what can shift. Family involvement ensures the entire family system will be equipped with new skills when it’s time to welcome your loved one home.

Our Clinical Model

Nexus Teen Academy uses a documented and outcomes-validated treatment model with standardized protocols, session goals, and group curriculum. Our philosophy of care focuses on building a safe space for residents to be vulnerable, express themselves authentically, discover passions, and gain purpose and insight into their personal vision for their lives to reduce their prior high-risk behaviors.

Each client in Nexus Teen Academy teen drug rehab center receives a tailored treatment plan, designed by an integrated team of experts in adolescent addiction treatment. Treatment plans are informed by a teen’s and family’s specific needs and history and comprehensive psychological assessments.

We partner with each family to develop a discharge plan to create clarity and momentum around the next steps in transitioning to different levels of care whether it’s Adolescent IOP, or connecting with a teen counselor near you.
